GGOS Days 2024
The annual business meeting of GGOS – the GGOS Days 2024 – will be held this year at the Wissenschaftsetage im Bildungsforum in Potsdam, Germany, from October 10-11 (08:30-17:00 local time | UTC+2) as a hybrid meeting.
In this opportunity, the GGOS Days 2024 will be held in the two days following the GGOS Topical Meeting on the Atmosphere (October 7-9), which will provide an opportunity for all IAG components involved in atmospheric analysis to interact with each other and with colleagues from the International Aeronomy and Geomagnetism Association (IAGA) to share their results and identify new challenges in this important field. Participants of the GGOS Days 2024 are also welcome to attend the GGOS Topical Meeting, more details here.

The main objective of the GGOS Days is to report to the GGOS Governing Board about recent advances and planned activities of the different GGOS components in agreement with the GGOS Strategic and Implementation Plans. Following reports are expected:
- – Updates on global geodetic infrastructure
- – Status of novel satellite missions relevant to Geodesy
- – Optimisation of geodetic infrastructure
- – Updates from the IAG Services
- – Standardisation, integration, and optimisation of geodetic products
- – Essential Geodetic Variables
- – Review of requirements and standards for geodetic products
- – Management and dissemination of geodetic data and products
- – Networking with external stakeholders
- – Communication and public outreach
- – Enhancement of geodetic collaboration at regional level
- – Advances of the GGOS Focus Areas: Geodesic Space Weather Research, Artificial Intelligence for Geodesy, Geohazards Monitoring
Participation and Registration
The GGOS Days 2024 meeting is open to everyone, but the following colleagues are strongly encouraged to attend:
- – GGOS Governing Board members
- – GGOS Science Panel members
- – GGOS Affiliates representatives and contributors
- – GGOS Focus Areas chairs and contributors, including associated study/working group members
- – GGOS Bureaus and associated committees and study/working group members
The meeting will take place in-person and online. Participation is free (no registration fee), but registration is required, mainly to ensure room capacity for in-person attendance. Therefore, please only register to attend in person if you are certain that you will be able to attend in person. If a registered participant is unable to attend the meeting, they are asked to withdraw their registration as soon as possible (by contacting the GGOS CO ggos.org/contact).
