Geodesy not only provides the fundamental basis for all practical and scientific disciplines, whose activities are based on geo-referenced data, but it is able to deliver a global picture of the surface kinematics of our planet, including oceans, ice covers, and land areas, and to deliver estimates of mass anomalies, mass transport, and mass exchange in the System Earth.
