Arriving by plane

The Airport Vienna-Schwechat (VIE) is located about 10 km outside of Vienna. It can be conveniently reached by trains.

Austrian Railways
  • Schnellbahn S7 (every 30 minutes): 25 minutes to Wien Mitte (metro station "Landstraße/BH Wien Mitte" of orange and green lines U3 and U4)
    • Ticket is 3.90 Euro / available at ticket machines of Austrian Railways
  • ÖBB Railjet (every 30 minutes): 15 minutes to Hauptbahnhof (metro station "Südtiroler Platz/Hauptbahnhof" of red line U1)
    • Ticket is 3.90 Euro / available at ticket machines of Austrian Railways
City airport Train (CAT)

Operated by private train company

  • CAT (every 30 minutes): 16 minutes to Wien Mitte (metro station "Landstraße/BH Wien Mitte" of orange and green lines U3 and U4)
    • Ticket is 11 Euro (Round-trip: 19 Euro) / avialable at CAT ticket machines, CAT counter or CAT staff

Arriving by train

There are two train stations for long distance trains

  • Hauptbahnhof (metro station "Südtiroler Platz/Hauptbahnhof" of red line U1)
  • Westbahnhof (metro station "Westbahnhof of orange line U3)

Getting around in Vienna

Vienna has an excellent public transportation system. Most trips around Vienna can be made by using the metro (lines U1, U2, U3, U4, U6):
